This year, the British Nutrition Foundation holds the BNF Healthy Eating Week between the 22nd and 28th of June, albeit now as a virtual challenge. The foundation has created a week's worth of seven challenges to tackle healthy eating from home, school or wherever possible.

“Over the past few months, we’ve spent a lot of time considering the different options for how we can practically – and safely – run BNF Healthy Eating Week this year,” said Roy Ballam, the BNF’s managing director and head of education. “While we are planning on organising a more normal version of the week in autumn, we felt it was important that we offer an alternative for families and individuals in June, too.”

With health at the forefront of everyone's minds, it is vital to consider our health and whether our habits need to adapt with our current lifestyles. The free event consists of seven health challenges, to be undertaken at home or in socially distanced schools or workplaces:

  1. Eat well
  2. Eat more wholegrains
  3. Have 5 A DAY
  4. Drink plenty
  5. Move more
  6. Be mind kind - help a friend or neighbour
  7. Make a change

The BNF will also be hosting two cooking sessions each day - 10am and 2pm - and you can follow along with recipes. These are already pre-recorded so you can have a browse and make your next healthy meal.
