Private tuition is a growing industry, but there are concerns it is not as tightly regulated as other areas of education.
Tutors are becoming more popular and can make a big difference to a child's academic achievements, helping them prepare for exams and give them extra guidance with school work.
However, tutors aren't required to go through the same background checks as those working in schools.
Now it's prompted calls for a change in the law and parents are being urged to do their own checks when hiring a private tutor.

Innovation and Learning – GDST Courses 2019
The GDST is working with the social learning provider FutureLearn, to create online courses. GDST are the only school organisation to have partnered with FutureLearn, offering a unique opportunity to share expertise with learners from across the world.
The first course, Girls’ Education: Teaching Strategies That Develop Confidence, Resilience and Collaboration reached over 10,000 learners in over 120 countries.
