It is clear to see that during times of crisis, community is more important than ever and some individuals go above and beyond to help those that may be struggling. Zane Powles, a Teacher in Grimsby, has been hand delivering meals and resources to his students and their families by foot, walking at least five miles a day to do so. Whilst other schools have developed a pick up system for meals, Zane encourages families to stay inside their homes, with many of his students being considered 'vulnerable'.

Zane stated: "The parents and children are pleased to see me and some have asked if I could also do some shopping for them. Some are asking for homework, which I am happy to take to them."

In doing this Zane explains that he considers the visits as a wellfare check for students and their families: "I usually knock on the door and wait in the garden and can check they are being well cared for. It is knock, drop and leave," he told Grimsby Live.

Other staff members deliver to homes in Cleethorpes, Immingham and Nunsthorpe by car. Many of the 100 children in receipt of the free food are vulnerable children who may not be fed otherwise.
