As we have seen in recent weeks, public and private schools have been contributing to the fight against cCovid-19 with initiaitives such as donating PPE or providing accomodation to key workers. Now Solihull School has created a way to further involve the community in giving back. Rather than donating items to NHS staff straight from the school, the school has provided parents with DIY kits in order to personalise gifts and add in their own special touches.

In a press release from the school, they explain that:

More than 450 families have received #NHSstaffrock kits to create goodie bags for NHS key workers battling the coronavirus pandemic. The sets include four bespoke themed postcards featuring Solihull Preparatory School’s Scuffle and Twitch mascots, a list of suggested gift items to include, such as a treat or wellbeing product and four paper bags for packaging.

The press release goes on to discuss that this has really brought parents together, creating a community feel whilst collecting and delivering the packs to NHS workers. The students have been encouraged to include creative and colourful drawings with personalised messages to staff, in order to make the packs even more special.

Those who have taken part have also been encouraged to share their packs on the #NHSstaffrock hashtag!
