The Boarding School Association, who consistently post news and updates regarding boarding schools, have been dedicated to keeping pupils, students, staff and families up to date during lockdown. Weekly, BSA have been summarising the efforts of private schools across the UK with the hashtag #BSAheroes and how they have been contributing to their local community during this time.

Varying from housing for Key Workers to creating face masks and other PPE for the NHS, many schools and their staff members have been working hard to fight the spread of Covid-19 and helping those who are putting themselves at risk each day for our well-being. For example, Plymouth College was commended for making one thousand face shields for their local community in order to prevent key workers from being at risk and Millfield School have been delivering hampers and food parcels to vulnerable children and their families.

At the beginning of this month of May, the Boarding School Association created a list of schools and their efforts to fight against coronavirus. The list highlights how generous and hard-working individuals and faculties have supported their local community and the BSA calls out for more details from schools to add to the list.

In this difficult time, it is easy to focus on the negative factors surrounding us, but the hashtag #BSAheroes reminds us of our faith in humanity and how we all come together in challenging circumstances.
