What is Clayesmore School like?
Clayesmore School truly makes the most of its spectacular 62 acre campus, set in the beautiful North Dorset countryside, under a 2 hour drive from Heathrow. The beautiful country estate has a classic British private school feel to it, perfect for inspiring and uniting the young minds who attend.
Offering day places from age 2-18, with boarding from age 7, Clayesmore School provides an inclusive platform for all its students to develop into independent and progressive-minded members of the global community. Day and boarding students share houses, and the school’s many societies encourage students across the year groups to share their ideas and experiences.
Strong pastoral support, small class sizes, and a broad and varied curriculum ensures that Clayesmore School can offer every student individual attention. The school’s holistic and inclusive ethos provides students with wide exposure to the whole school community, building wider skills and networks to prepare them for adult life.
Would Clayesmore School be a good fit for my child?
Whilst it is becoming more academically selective in later year groups, Clayesmore School openly enrols a wide range of student abilities. High-fliers can join the Oxbridge prep programme, but those requiring support or a flexible curriculum will be well looked after through Clayesmore School’s TLC (Teaching and Learning Centre.)
Clayesmore School really pushes its students to become independent, responsible learners, so is well suited to students and parents with similar goals for personal development. Pastoral support is comprehensive, but the ultimate goal is to develop a student’s resilience and ability to operate on their own initiative. A willingness to be open-minded and keen to work within a diverse community are key elements to a student’s success here.
Enterprise, Art and Design, Theatre and Sport are all well catered for, so Clayesmore students should be keen to engage and make the most of the opportunities available. Students here have little free time, so applicants should be prepared for a full and busy lifestyle.
