Kensington Park School
What is Kensington Park School like?
Kensington Park School is an independent day and boarding school for students aged 11 to 18 situated in the very centre of London. It boasts some of the country’s most experienced teachers and offers excellent cultural and sporting opportunities. The school occupies two sites near Kensington Gardens, the Lower School for boys and girls aged 11-16 and a separate Sixth Form for students aged 16-18. Operating two separate buildings allows the school to cater for the various age groups and deliver specialist A-level and university preparation in the Sixth Form.
Although primarily a day school, there is accommodation available for students who wish to board.
The school prides itself on its forward-thinking approach placing emphasis on developing a child's creativity, interpersonal skills, and sense of global understanding. This is supported through a modern curriculum with subjects such as Computer Science and Mandarin, and an array of exciting sports and activities to take part in.
The Lower School's co-curricular programme makes use of facilities within walking distance of Kensington Park School: cross-country training takes place in Kensington Gardens; tennis and netball are held at Will To Win in Hyde Park; climbing takes place at the Westway Centre; ice skating is held at Queen’s Skate; and swimming lessons are held at Porchester Leisure Centre. Sixth Formers have access to Imperial College’s Ethos Sports Centre with its state-of-the-art gym, pool and climbing wall.
Would Kensington Park School be suitable for my child?
The majority of the school's students are local, domestic students living in and around West London. However, there is also a vibrant international cohort with boarding available for students aged 14+ in the school's exclusive boarding residence located just a short distance away from the KPS school buildings.
KPS is academically selective on entrance, though retains a supportive environment and inclusive ethos.
How can I apply to Kensington Park School?
KPS will consider students for the usual main entrance points (11+, 13+, 16+) and can consider suitable students for occasional places if available. Being academically selective, we would advise you only apply if you are confident your child will meet the selection requirements.
