What is Reigate Grammar School like?
Reigate Grammar is a very popular co-educational senior day school in the affluent Surrey town of Reigate, situated approximately one hour by train from London. The school has a long and distinguished history, having been founded in 1675, and the buildings are an inspiring mixture of traditional and modern, with excellent facilities for teaching as well as a vast range of extra-curricular clubs and activities. Art and DT provision is excellent and there is a fantastic swimming pool.
Reigate Grammar is a school where pastoral care is considered central to the education provided and each child is known as an individual. The headmaster, Shaun Fenton, is a leader in the world of education. The school aims to create a ‘positive, comfortable climate of mutual respect, affirmation and intellectual freedom’.
The academic curriculum is broad and stimulating and homework is well structured. Reigate Grammar is an academically selective school and results are excellent at both GCSE and A Level. Music, drama and debating are integral to school life. Sport is also very popular and well provided for as is CCF.
