Woodhouse Grove School - Apperley Bridge

Apperley Bridge, West Yorkshire, BD10 0NR, United Kingdom

What is Woodhouse Grove School Like?

Woodhouse Grove benefits from being both located in the countryside and close to a town. Despite being located less than five miles from the centre of Leeds and Bradford and only five minutes from Leeds/Bradford airport, neither is visible or audible. Screened by woods, the school's safe 70 acre campus sits in the broad Aire Valley in Yorkshire and enjoys a lovely rural setting which belies its convenient urban situation.

The School’s ethos is to install confidence in each individual child by providing an education that is full and diverse, in an environment that is inspiring. Students are encouraged and supported to develop into resilient individuals, ready to continue to succeed in their life beyond education.

With just over 750 pupils in the senior school, the school is a close knit community. Every member of staff works incredibly hard to understand each student’s drives and passions, how they learn and what they want to achieve – whether this is in a science lab or out on the rugby field.

Would Woodhouse Grove School be good for my child?

Woodhouse Grove seeks to offer an “all-round” education for children – with emphasis on co-curricular activities and opportunities beyond the classroom.

The aim at Woodhouse Grove is to add value. Woodhouse Grove believes that their teaching, staff expertise, and the myriad of opportunities available to the students helps each child succeed in every aspect of their school life be it academic, sport, performing arts, or social skills.

How can I apply to Woodhouse Grove School?

For parents of children considering entry into the school in Year 7, it may come as a surprise that entrance examinations in maths and English do not have a pass mark. The decision to be non-academically selective at this stage is a decision made after careful consideration and is a key element of the school's ethos. The Year 7 Admissions Process takes exam results, a report from the current primary school, and performance at interview into equal consideration.
